Mr. Dvere called us with the report that his garage door springs were approaching their lift cycle limit, and starting to make creaking noises.
This wasn’t an emergency broken spring replacement, so we had time to make an appointment and pick out the exact right size of spring to bring over. Mr. Dvere’s springs were in passable shape for their age and usage, but some parts were starting to twist and thin out in ominous ways. They clearly wouldn’t last too much longer. We went through our routine, disconnecting and securing the door before starting the delicate process of spring removal. Intact springs are safer to handle than broken ones, but still require maximum caution! Once we had them free, we cleaned the housing and installed the new springs before reconnecting the door.
