We gave the spring assembly our own thorough investigation to make sure there wasn’t a break or jam that escaped Mr. Freck’s notice. There wasn’t, and the lift cables and drive tram were also in good shape. That meant that the problem was with the opener’s self-diagnostic system itself. The garage door wouldn’t open because the opener detected a problem that didn’t really exist and locked it down for safety. Replacing the logic board and reprogramming the opener solved this problem.
